This bowl was made out of a green cedar crotch, a piece that was on sale as firewood. Its character watched my eye and I hand-turned it into a unique and rustic wooden bowl. Combining basic materials, wood and metal, this wabi sabi bowl tells its own story.
The bowl has been scorched with fire, following the Yakisugi technique. I haven`t varnished it as it still has an amazing cedar-y smell.
The stitching inside of the bowl is handmade as well, with upcycled and forged nail turned into a handmade stitch to prevent the crack from expanding.
This farmhouse bowl will be dispatched using reclaimed materials (box/wrapping).
